Osteomed

System Advantages

Innovative Screw Technology

2.7mm, 3.5mm, and 4.0mm cortical locking and non-locking screws, as well as 4.0mm cancellous non-locking, cannulated screws accompany the system. All screws feature a double-lead thread pattern, a standard drive mechanism and are self-tapping to promote efficient bony purchase. The 4.0mm cannulated screws also incorporate a self-drilling feature to facilitate screw insertion.

Universal Screw Holes

Each circular plate hole can accommodate any 2.7mm, 3.5mm, or 4.0mm diameter locking and non-locking screw, thus maximizing screw options to capture various sized bony fragments.

Anatomic Plate Designs

ExtremiLOCK ankle plates are designed to match the contour of the bony anatomy. Chamfered tips assist with submuscular plate insertion. Soft, rounded edges and a highly smooth surface minimize any soft tissue irritation.

Angled-Locking

Locking screws can be locked on-axis with the plate threads or up to 20 degrees of angled-locking in any direction (40 degrees conical). Screws can be locked and unlocked up to three times without sacrificing the integrity of the plate/screw interface.

Comprehensive Instrumentation

The instrumentation was designed to assist with soft tissue management, bone, and plate manipulation as well as screw insertion. Plate holding task, a syndesmotic clamp, a compressor, and a distractor are available to assist the surgical procedure and significantly reduce or time.

ExtremiLock Ankle Plating System

The ExtremiLOCK Ankle Plating System is a comprehensive ankle fracture system intended to provide solutions for simple to complex fractures of the distal tibia and fibula. The system is one of the first to feature double-lead screws in locking, non-locking, and cannulated screw options. All system components are contained in a single instrument tray which houses six fracture plating options, seven screw fixation options, and comprehensive, color-coded instrumentation.

ExtremiLock Wrist Plating System

ExtremiLock Wrist Plating System includes the latest in variable angled locking screw and plate technology to treat fractures of the distal radius. The system features a variety of screw fixation options incorporating double-lead threads which allow for faster insertion and reduced O.R. time. Specialized instrumentation completes this comprehensive system which allows for multiple intra-operative options to treat the fracture.

System Advantages

Universal Screw Holes – Each circular plate hole can accommodate any 2.4mm or 2.7mm diameter locking and non-locking screw allowing for a variety of options to treat the fracture or a single screw diameter to limit the amount of instrumentation needed.

Anatomic Plate Design – ExtremiLock Wrist plates are designed to match the contour of the bony anatomy. Smooth surface and rounded edges minimize any soft tissue irritation. Chamfered tips assist with submuscular plate insertion.

Cannulated Screw – The cannulated double lead locking compression screw allows for accurate placement by using a guidewire. Designed to fixate fractures through a universal screw hole or as a compression screw outside of the plate.

ExtremiLock Foot Plating System

The ExtremiLOCK Foot Plating System is a comprehensive foot fracture system intended to provide solutions for simple to complex fractures of the distal tibia and fibula. The system is one of the first to feature double-lead screws in locking, non-locking, and cannulated screw options. All system components are contained in a single instrument tray which houses six fracture plating options, seven screw fixation options, and comprehensive, color-coded instrumentation.

Hand Plating System

Hand Plating System provides everything you need to treat the personality of the fracture. Hand Plating System includes 53 different plates, 5 screw designs, 3 k-wire sizes, a hands-free plate holding TAKS™, and unique instrumentation designed to reduce soft tissue irritation. The 5 interchangeable color-coded modules – 1.2mm, 1.6mm, 2.0mm, 2.4mm, cannulated – and instrument tray provide precise instrumentation for every step of the procedure. This self-contained system is organized in order of use to save time in surgery.

Hand Plating System Advantages

Minimizing soft tissue irritation and adhesions
The hand plating system plates are highly polished to reduce surface microroughness, resulting in reduced tissue adhesions1. The rounded edges and low profile of the plates and
screw heads facilitate tendon motion and minimize irritation.

Stable anatomic reduction
OsteoMed’s proprietary angled locking technology incorporates threads on the head of the screw and the
interior of the plate hole providing a unique, strong and rigid construct. Multiple plates and screw configurations are available, allowing for anatomic reconstruction of unique fracture patterns. The hand plating system provides multiple compression options. The plates have dual compression holes allowing compression in both directions independent of plate placement. Solid core, cannulated and headless cannulated lag screws provide compression outside of a plate.

“The low-profile subcondylar plate provides exceptional stability and allows early motion without soft-tissue irritation.”
